The Way I Want To Learn

So, I've recently watched a series of videos about the rant that Jeff Bliss did about the learning system. Some people thought that what we did was wrong, but others are on his side- and I am one of them. I feel as if some teachers do not care, and I would learn more if the teachers would give more hands on work and explain the homework better. Usually, there is that one teacher that just gives me the work and doesn't explain how to do it. How do they expect me to get a good grade, when I barely know how to get it done. They should explain it instead of just passing it out.

The school district does have a problem with getting the teachers to engage with the students, and that is something that needs to be fixed. They should talk with the students to make sure they understand the work they have been given. I learn better when things are explained step by step, word by word. I also learn better when I am given a hands on activity and when the teacher tells it to me. If they just hand me a sheet of paper, trust and believe I will forget everything on that paper in a day. Not every student should be taught the same way. The students should be able to chose what they want to learn. What if I wanted to be an engineer?I shouldn't be getting taught about art and music. People who want to take art as a career should be studying that. I should be learning physics and advanced math.

So, in my point of view, the rant Jeff Bliss did was not wrong because more people should stand up for what they believe in. It could lead to a change in education today.

I Hate Tests!

Today, the seventh grade had to take a writing and revising STAAR test. We also had to write an expository essay for the STAAR. I absolutely, without a doubt, hate tests.

• They make me all jittery and nervous. When I read the first question, I immediately forget all that I know. So I get myself calm, so I can remember everything. I read everything on the page twice, that way I can understand it all. 
• Another thing I hate about tests is that you have to sit in the same chair ALL DAY. 

So Ummm....

So, we recently started using Wiki Spaces, and it's aight, it's not my favorite website on the internet. But, it's actually pretty cool. I feel all smart when I type in the information and insert pictures. One thing I found interesting was the table of contents. It was cool that if I typed in the title of a section, it would automatically insert itself in the table of contents. That's less work for me! It was also cool how I could go back and edit it. So, if i was reading over the page and I saw an error, I could go back and fix it. I think I could get used to this Wiki Space thing......

Spring Break was A-MA-ZING!

My spring break was so fun! I practiced my flips on the trampoline, had my family over, went to my bestie's sleepover and to end it all, I went to Six Flags with three of my closest friends. We all promised each other we would get on all of the big rides- and we did! Then after we left there, we got to go to In-N-Out Burger. This truly was one of the best spring breaks ever.

Now, if money wasn't an option, my spring break would be WAAAY better than it was last week. I would go on a shopping spree, go to Hawaii, Six Flags, Hurricane Harbor, all of that kind of stuff! I'd take a trip to a different country and maybe take a cruise. I'd do all the things I ever dreamed of and ummm...yeah XD

What Would Life Be Like If We Were All Unplugged?

If there was no technology in life, I think I would probably die. I wouldn't know what to do! Basically everything I do has to deal with technology. I use a cell phone, an internet tablet, the computer, and video games. Technology is based on many things in life today. So, if you take away technology, if would really mess some things up. All I know is, I need my technology access!
